Jeffrey A. Leyton brings more than 30 years of legal experience to NRG, having practiced as family and corporate counsel to numerous individuals and New York Stock Exchange companies and as a partner in law firms, both in New York City and in Phoenix.
Practicing mediation and family law exclusively for the past 17 years, Mr. Leyton is experienced in all areas of family law, including mediation, where he has successfully negotiated settlements for clients outside of the courtroom. Also representing clients in numerous trials, Mr. Leyton excels in advising clients in complex divorce matters and cases involving marital businesses, including the preparation of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Mr. Leyton also has extensive experience in confrontational custody matters, in which he has successfully negotiated resolutions or obtained verdicts in the best interests of the children. In addition, he has negotiated and obtained successful results at trial in relocation cases involving out-of-state relocation by either mother or father.
Mr. Leyton is a certificated family law mediator and has served as a Judge Pro Tem of the Superior Court for the State of Arizona in Maricopa County. One of his greatest strengths is his ability to analyze a complex matter with ease. He is also well-respected for his candor and practical advice that he regularly renders to his clients and colleagues. Mr. Leyton is admitted to practice law in Arizona, has maintained his New York and Connecticut bar admissions and is licensed to practice law in the United States Supreme Court.
A graduate of Brooklyn Law School with honors, Mr. Leyton is a member of the Family Law Section of the Maricopa County Bar Association and acquired his Bachelor's Degree in sociology and political science from Queens College of the City University of New York, where he also graduated with honors.
